Security: Control of your data matters more than devices

PA’s Dan Rossner, IT expert, is quoted in the Financial Times The Connected Business special report. As more and more laptops and mobile phones are lost, Dan comments on the increasingly important issue of device security and data loss. Losing a device is not the only concern, as information security organisations warn that the risk of viruses making the jump from PCs to smartphones will only increase.

Dan comments on the threat of unlocked iPhones – known as jailbroken phones - being used by hacking groups: "Jailbroken phones could expose businesses to a bigger threat … A jailbroken device is less secure. If you combine that with valuable corporate data, the result is a less secure platform."
